Now you see next you don’t – part 1 of 5 part series

Part 1

Covid 19 is a major reminder for everyone not to take things for granted, out of a sudden there are a lot of things being taken away from us, our daily routine, our loved one, our health, and for some our job and business. Seems like everything is out of our control.

It reminds me of my own experience, in the middle of 2005, I was reminded that everything can be taken from us in a second.

Just like how Covid 19 spread global, everything seems to be good a few days before, and out of a sudden, I was woken up blinded in my left eye.

When I woke up with one blinded left eye, I was in denial. I thought to myself that I was still dreaming and everything will be ok once I woke up for real, because of that I went back to sleep before attending my classes at the university.

However, reality hit me – my left eye was blind. Realizing that I can’t do anything about it, I prepared myself to leave for my university and shared with my mom that I can’t see anything with my left eye. She appeared calm and told me to use eye drop and things will be ok.
That day I drove my car with one blind eye, since I can’t do anything on that point I persevered and finished my term exams. All the time, I was thinking what can I do about my left eye.

The morning after my exam ended, I woke up, walked to the living room, and to look for my mom. I told her that my left eye was blind I can’t see anything when I closed my right eye. She appeared shocked when she heard that. We decided that we need to rush to the hospital.

At the hospital, after examination, we waited anxiously for the doctor to reveal the findings.
